Soccer player Joseph Henyekane dies

Former Golden Arrows defender and younger brother of Free State Stars striker Richard Henyekane, Joseph  is reported to have passed away.  Obzeva.co.za learnt of this after Free State Stars posted a message on their website offering their condolences to the Henyekane family.  The massage reads as follow:

“Free State Stars Football Club would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to the Henyekane family on the passing away of their son, Joseph. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Henyekane family and the deceased’s friends at this difficult time.”

The Henyekane brothers both burst onto the scenes at Arrows before moving on, Richard to Mamelodi Sundowns, and Joseph to Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Joseph Henyekane (30)  joined Bidvest Wits briefly after his Aces stint, but never played for the club, and his last professional contract was with National First Division club Roses United.
