2015 AFCON Bafana Bafana Squad Announced

Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba announced the 23-man national team to represent South Africa in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

 
The team was trimmed down after a 34-man provisional squad camp, which started on the Boxing Day, held their last training session this morning.

 
The selected players will report to camp on the 2nd of January where they will face Zambia in a pre-tournament friendly on the 4th of January at Orlando Stadium. The team will then leave for Gabon, where they will play a friendly against Cameroon, while another friendly against Gabon is penciled in for the 13/14th of January 2015.

Goalkeepers: Darren Keet, Jackson Mabokgwane and Brilliant Khuzwayo
Defenders: Siyabonga Nhlapo, Patrick Phungwayo, Anele Ngcongca, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Mulomowandau Mathoho, Rivaldo Coetzee and Thabo Matlaba
Midfielders: Themba Zwane, Andile Jali, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Bongani Zungu, Thamsanqa Sangweni, Dean Furman, Thuso Phala, Mandla Masango and Oupa Manyisa
Strikers: Bernard Parker, Tokelo Rantie, Bongani Ndulula and Sibusiso Vilakazi

Average Age: 25.3 (down from 26.2 in AFCON2013)
